About Conference Theme - Reimagining Management in the Era of Disruption
Amid a rapidly shifting global landscape, the very foundations of management are being challenged by waves of disruption mainly on three intertwined fronts geopolitical uncertainty, technological breakthroughs, and sustainability imperatives. The rise of artificial intelligence, digital ecosystems, and borderless commerce in a geopolitically fractured world is redrawing the rules of strategy and operations, while societal demands for sustainability, agility, and inclusion are reshaping leadership norms. Across the Global South, these disruptions are broadly similar but are amplified by disparities in resources, infrastructure, and governance necessitating innovative, locally adapted management approaches that can both leverage growth opportunities and build long-term resilience. To thrive in this environment, organizations must reimagine management by embracing these disruptions not as a threat but as opportunity to reinvent business for a complex, interconnected, yet geopolitically fragile world. The disruptions reshaping management globally have particularly profound effects on India. Disruptions ranging from rapid technological advances to economic vulnerabilities have exposed businesses and communities to heightened uncertainty. These tensions coupled with geopolitical turbulence have significantly increased the operational risks for Indian enterprises, particularly in technology, service, manufacturing, and export sectors. Reimagining management in these contexts calls for a shift from narrow technological adoption to holistic strategies that integrate social inclusion, sustainability, and systemic agility to navigate complex, interconnected challenges more effectively. Thus, INDAM 2027 conference seeks to engage scholars and practitioners in deliberating cutting-edge insights on these pressing issues from a managerial lens with a specific focus on how management theory and practice can respond to these transformations.
